Making the Difference Federal Internship Program

One bright spot in this gloomy job market is the federal government. Two of the federal government’s “mission critical” fields are engineering and acquisitions (purchase of goods and services). College sophomores, juniors, seniors, and graduate students now have the opportunity to break into these fields through the new Making the Difference Federal Internship Program.

Through the program, 30 students will be placed in paid summer 2009 internships in these two fields. The internships will be in Washington, D.C. and will provide the opportunity to pursue full-time employment with the federal government upon graduation. As an intern, you would have access to subsidized housing and professional development training that is designed to help prepare you for a career in the federal government.

The application deadline for the program is February 27, 2009. However, applications will be reviewed beginning on January 23. You can find out more about this opportunity at http://apps.makingthedifference.org/mtdfip/.
